AREX is a dynamic manufacturing company with a global reach and more than twenty years of history focused mainly on supplies for the defense and security industries. The headquarters and production facility are located in the town of Šentjernej, Slovenia. The main activity of the company is the development and production of (plastic) ammunition for training purposes, ammunition links and pistols. In addition, the company also supplies other pieces of equipment to the armed forces (eg protective helmets and vests, special backpacks, knives) and various technological solutions. Thanks to the high quality of the products, the focus on its own R&D and investments in modern technologies, AREX has built an excellent reputation in its field and a network of regular customers during its existence. Most of the production goes to the demanding and competitive markets of Western Europe and the USA, and clients also include a number of large European companies from the defense and security industries. AREX is also very active in the attractive market in Brazil.
AREX focuses intensively on its own research and development, on its own product portfolio with high added value and on products that have a high potential to succeed on the world market. In 2021, for example, a new unique training marking ammunition MT-X developed at AREX was launched. AREX is one of the top three world leaders in this segment.
In order to realize an ambitious international expansion, the management structure was strengthened in 2021, and Tim Castagne became the company's new CEO with experience in managing the multinational companies Sig Sauer and Heckler&Koch.
